Withdraw Your Consent To Be Governed by Tyrants!

“Consent of the governed” infers that a government’s legitimacy and recognition of its power is justified and lawful only when consented to by the people over which that political power is exercised. Consent is fundamental to any social contract granting or recognizing political legitimacy. Any body that attempts to rule without the consent of those it seeks to govern must only be classified as a form of authoritarianism.

Philosopher John Locke believed that in a state of nature, no one has the right to govern you, and you would not have the right to govern anyone else. According to Locke, the only way that people get the right to govern anyone else is when those who will be governed give their consent. Each of us has the right to our own autonomy, and that any political adherence we may choose to enter into is contingent of our being able to freely chose, deliberately, our participation in such governing. Locke presents consent as a deliberate act that constitutes an undertaking of obligation and agreement, and he states individual consent is required because, (a) every person is a free, equal, and sovereign individual; and (b) a free, equal, and sovereign individual cannot be subjugated to non-natural obligations.

It is painfully obvious that America's democracy is under serious threat of being overthrown by an Oligarchy. None of us gave our consent to live under tyranny! Therefore, the time has come to take a stand and make it clear that WE DO NOT CONSENT to being governed by authoritarianism and fascism!.
